Slow ox for about 5 hours. Bramble, cherry and hibiscus on the nose. Elegant bouquet with good depth and complexity. On the palate notes of red cherry, ripe forest berries, rose petals, rooibos tea, herbal essence, sous bois, crushed rock, leather and fresh soil. Remained on the elegant, rather reluctant side. Long aftertaste and good persistence. Very delicious. Drink or hold

Colour: Solid red, no bricking evident. Nose: Red fruit, licorice, cloves, wood. Palate: Cherry, raspberry, integrated tannins, some acid. Medium length. Slightly one-dimensional, had expected more.

Expected this to be tight as a drum. It is actually quite open and tasty. What makes this wine is it’s mineral profile. Imagine sucking big fruit (berries and plums) through a stone. That is this wine. I think the fruit will further refine over time (a little pruniness right now), making this even better.

Shapeshifter. Very concentrated. Ripe. Powdered sugar beignet on the nose. Hollowness on the attack and strangely tight on the finish with a bit of unsweetened cocoa and carob. Definitely has more time.

Powerful, fruit-driven, rich, a nice drink with oxtail stew. Showing some age, but not at all tired.
