Lovely full nose. Smooth on the palate with deep, ripe cherry fruit and some vanilla and leather. If tasted blind I woud have guessed that it was from Washington State. Very nice Ribera and I'll hold onto my last bottle for a couple more years.

This needs at least 30 minutes air. It is a mix of rich American oak, tar and a gravelly minerality that keeps this big wine from seeming too dense. I am happy to report that I did not detect any dill pickle. But I also felt this more than the 14% listed on the bottle.

The wine was opened at 4PM, poured at 6:30 and consumed at 7:30 PM. This was a jammy, yet not over-powering wine. It was so well balanced with a hint of fruit and vanilla. I felt the wine was still young even after 9 years. LOTS of life left in this one.

Tar and gravelly minerality amongst the dry cherries and leather. A great buy at $21.

Splash decant. The nose on this is floral, gravelly and fantastic. The palate is a bit more robust but not slouch. This was a great buy for $21.
