Drinking great and entering its prime. I expect it to be like this for a while. Classic Ribera oak is well-integrated. Fine but not overwhelming tannins and medium acidity. Red fruit with a slight pleasant bitterness on the palate, almost like unsweetened cranberry. Very enjoyable for someone who does not typically drink Spanish wine. Purchased long ago at Madrid's Barajas on my way home from a weekend in Milan to see Swing Out Sister in concert.

Decanted for 1,5 hour. Lovely on the nose with...ripe blueberries, cherry liquor mixed with ripe prunes. Oak was really well used and do not dominate the palate. It rather adds tasty vanilla notes and coconut. Full bodied, elegant and classy with medium-long aftertaste. Really really good!!

Appearance: dark purple red with almost black core. Aroma: intense dark fruit, licorice and oak. Full-bodied with good acidity and big and firm tannins. Ripe dark fruit, licorice and oak on the palate. Very good length.
Juicy and powerfull wine. Not to much, just right.

Big Ribera del Duero - from one of the best years in century. Great - but many better years ahead. I'd wait on this one a few yrs.
