Popped and poured. A little weak and milquetoast for my taste. Fully mature, but translucent red color and viscosity suggest youth. Yet nose and mouth are mostly tertiary: leather, soil, and milk chocolate. It is either fading or too young. I don’t have enough experience with this particular wine. And I’m not alone. CT drink dates appear to suggest this is on the downside of life, while the winery’s website claims it is in early maturity. I wonder who’s right? 5-11-14-7: 87/100.

I wanted to hold onto this longer but I saw it around 50% Grenache and counoise which I’d say are varietals meant to be drunk young. The approximate other 50% are more age worthy. What to do? Life is too short so I pulled the trigger. Gave it a 3 hour decant. Upon opening it tasted of fresh strawberries. Coming back at hour 3 those flavors had faded. It became more gamey and rich. CdP type funk on it. Day 2 it was okay. I guess this can hold longer if you want but I’d get into it within the next 3 years.

Wonderful nose - with sweet ripe fruit and some meatiness / gaminess that paired nicely with a lightly seasoned steak off the grill.
On the palate, this has evolved into a nice balance of fruit and tannins.
Finish lingers but turns a bit towards the sour side.
In a nice place now. If you like ripe fruit, dive in now before the secondary flavor profile becomes dominant. But this has the goods to go several more years.

Very nice nose, with cranberry and Smokey berry flavors. Went great with slow smoked then seared Flannery prime aged 16 oz Jorge steak.

Decanted 45 min. Drank over 2 days. Day 2 was a bit more tasty than day 1. Consistent tastes of red & darker fruits.
