Beautiful blend of Rhone varieties G/S/Md/Counoise with a dash of tannic Tannat. Perfumed, turning spicy and herbal, but there is a core of succulent dark cherry, somewhat chocolated, fruit that stands out and carries through with perfect precision from beginning to end. Old world more than new. Long and memorable. 91-95

This wine keeps getting better, smooth tannins, some acid, great complex fruit flavors, good structure, a delight to drink with saffron, tomato fish stew of swordfish, monkfish, clams, shrimp and scallops, actually a good pairing as wine has enough acid to stand up to the tomato base, great sipping and a prelude to Drops of God, last bottle so on to next vintage.

Pulled the cork on this last night and was underwhelmed. Day 2 is showing what I would expect out of a Tablas in this price range. Still quite young, but the wrapper is blowing off and the Grenache predominate blend is starting to mellow and let the Syrah and Mourvèdre do their thing.

Very red fruited, in a unique way. Would pair well with earthy foods.
