Wow! There is a lot going on here and I can see why it stood out in the tasting with only a glass or two to judge it on. Beautiful nose of chocolate (?), very luscious, more chocolate, plums and dark fruits follow. Little tannin however and surprisingly, quite new world in style. Overall, this became 'too easy' to drink with little complexity or body to it. A tad too New World for me.

Pomerol picks mid and high range in 2016 from bottle (Pomerol): Tasted from bottle at the Moueix offices in Libourne, coming from a nine-hectare vineyard and blending 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, this wine is an excellent price/quality ratio. There is a tannic edge here, but more suave than the inferior Château Bel Air Lalande de Pomerol, tasted just before. Sure, more expensive, too but at about $30 retail (in Europe), a great deal. A rather sumptuous wine, but with fine grip with wet-stone like appeal. The ripe fruit leads to a finish with bright lift. 14% alcohol. Go for it!

Among the first wines tried at Moueix and it sets the tannic tone, as well, but there is a suave, haute couture like aspect to the tannins that bodes well for aging. Not as deep or as long as the more prestigious terroirs, but I would buy this, as it shan't be too pricey. 90-92

Drinking very well already, sweet dried red fruit on the nose, elegant structure, good length

GG wine tasting. Only tried two glasses but this stood out. Potentially offers very good value.
