Coonawarra Roadshow (Masonic Hall, Goulburn street): Perfumed, red over black fruit proves more berry and bramble than currant, sweet oak spice. Medium plus intensity acidity, red over black fruit, chalky tannins, slight non-intrusive alcohol warmth but this feels a little flat - the acidity is sharp rather than refreshing. Meh

Drank at a dinner with a burger, topped with pulled beef.
Fine pairing. These Coonawarra cab savs are wonderful and this is an excellent example. I spoke to Parker at the Sydney Coonawarra Roadshow and asked which of the 10, 12 or 13 vintages they recommend to drink now and this was they choice.
Beautifully integrated oak, bringing vanilla to the wine. Blackcurrant, cassis and other black fruits.
Long finish and drinking beautifully now, but has a long life ahead

"Great wine. Starts with deep black fruit nose. Great deep red colour. Rated 96 by JH I can see why. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 8 % Merlot it’s a peak Coonawarra. Now 8 years old I think it’s close to peak but will go another 5 years in my opinion. Having this with a large 580 gm wagyu rib eye. Just getting some good stuff before Dry July!! I gave it 4 stars 2 years ago but upgraded to a 4.5 stars this time around."
