  • Four years later, I'm still drinking in the heavenly realms. Only now, with a settled brilliance that was never in doubt.

There's lashings of plum, blueberry, blackberry, new leather, campfire, juniper, spearmint, cardamon, five spice, campari, and white pepper that herald in a palate of the highest Barossa Shiraz order. Powerful, eternal, exquisitely balanced, wonderously layered. Every sip is just:

    pure joy.

This is the best of the Barossa. A thirty year keeper. A big anniversary treat slurge. And a Wozza 97.

  • Dark, vibrant purple, almost black core. Intense, concentrated blackberry and cherry notes, spices and iron.
Silky, viscous, immediately floods the mouth with tight, intense, focused and perfectly ripened fruit. A very forceful wine, but nothing is overdone at all. Just sublime, seamless, incredible length. Ultra fine tannins provide for a long, savoury finish and a perfect foil to the impossibly concentrated fruit.
For me, as good as it gets with Barossa. World class fruit combined with world class wimenaking!

  • My first time looking at a Standish wine and all I can say is, believe the hype. Drank over 3 nights and it was pure enjoyment from start to finish. Decanted for around 8 hours.

  • One of the most blueberried wines I have had. Blueberry pie! Licorice, something like black cherry, herbs, Barossa earth, spice. It’s big without being heavy - the acid is almost minerally. The length is outrageous! So good, so complete. Could go 96. Will age but it’s so fresh, approachable and interesting now.

  • Deep, dark and brooding Shiraz, rich and primary but has an understated elegance and balance. Black fruits, licorice and some spice characters, oak treatment and tannins a real highlight. Length for days, has that wonderful Standish texture as well. Will age for some time but outstanding now.
