  • Cranberry juice color. Cranberry juice nose with some spices and a hint of dried herbs. Cranberry juice palate with the same spices and herbs. All about acidity with the tart red berries appearing on the finish with the slightest hint of oak. Pretty representative of the grape and giving as much as it will ever give. Okay and almost good. This is Ocean Spray’s long lost cousin.

  • Pale red going almost terra cotta. The nose is just inviting a sip. The nose is not layered nor too complex but there is a bright red berries / savoury or earthy combo that just works really well with a hint of florals to make it seem delicate. On the palate, zippy cherries, the same savoury component (root vegetables, dried herbs and tilled earth). Light bodied, tart (medium+ acidity) very decent mid-palate short finish. But damn this is fun to drink. I dare you to not finish the bottle. In a great place, drink up.

  • Nose: The nose is savory and tart with raspberries, sour red cherries, roses, earth tones, herbs, and crushed rocks. There is good depth with wafting aromatics with a sour fruited take.

Taste: The feel is medium bodied with tart, medium+ acidity with silky, medium tannins. The feel is on the lighter side of medium with a silkiness to it. There is excellent balance with a sour red fruited base of raspberries, sour red cherries, roses, earth notes, and crushed rocks.

Overall: This is a lovely Arbois that shows off a rustic side along with sour red fruits and savory aromatics. This is drinking beautifully and while I'm sure it can age, it's a whole lot of fun right now.

  • New Zealand micro trip; 5/6/2019-5/9/2019 (North Island, New Zealand): Savoury, mineral, wild black fruits, slightly jubey notes with time, earthy. Lovely nose. Splash of acid up front carries that fresh berry fruit. The finish shows a gently tannic burr and a little alcohol warmth. Yum yum.
