Patio dinner with Neeta and Manoj (Chez Walker - Princeton, NJ): Second wine of the evening with first course. It's been a few years since last tasting of this vintage. Decanted through a Vinituri 2 hours prior to drinking. My experience with Beaux Freres wines is they need time to show - especially the older ones. No insight as to why...they just get more expressive with at least 2 hours
Medium dark ruby red, mild separation. Nose of red fruits, dried flowers and earth notes. Palate showing dark cherry, black raspberry, cherry cola, underbrush. Smooth, elegant texture. Medium weight and finish.
Great showing on this evening. From memory, the wine has moved to a darker fruit profile in the last 4 years - more earth and dark cherry. Aging nicely, still has time. Hard to say if it will improve much

Red and dark fruits, cherry, underwood. Good acidity, clean palate, long finish with firm tannins. Needs time to open up.

Nice Oregon Pinot but light on the pallet. Earthy nose and a bit heavy on acid

Light mid-brick, amber edges; smokey, stemmy, earthy, wood nose; mid-body; balanced; good fruit; long fruity, woody finish. 16.5

Very nice but definitely on the downside. Drink 'em if you got 'em
