It is a good thing I read the notes on this bottle previous to opening so that I had enough timt to decant for about 4 hours. I tasted initially and then after the decant and the wine opened up significantly. Great lingering taste.

Very disappointing bottle. I had great hopes for this wine based on online reviews, but it did not deliver. Fairly average, with decent acidity, but almost no aromas and a very short finish. Hard to drink by itself, much better with pasta and rich meat sauce. Slightly better on day 2 but still far from a textbook Barbera d'Alba and poor QPR at $15+ Euros. Got one more bottle in the cellar, will report back if things change/improve with that one.

Much more going on than I anticipated. Good structure with more tannin and acidity than expected. Good barbera fruit. I had popped and poured...this was a mistake. I should have decanted for a couple hours. I saved half the bottle--it was stunning on day 2. At over $30, however, it should be a top-shelf barbera.

A bit much acidity for my taste, but the bright fruit and freshness scores points.
