Nose is complex: stewed red fruits and toast, spice with a hint of balsamic and smoked meat. Medium plus intensity.
Palate is rich, layered and textured. Stewed red a black cherries, licorice, coffee and spice. Acidity is still fresh, tannins are fine and alcohol balances nicely. Earthiness is coming in and then drinking window seems ideal.

An Overview of Chiara Boschis (Zoom!): CB notes this was a wet vintage at the beginning of the season, leading to fresh, elegant and balanced wines - unlike the 2017 fruit bombs. Quite a structured Barbera, which CB notes has the capacity to age. One year in barrel. Slightly floral nose. Blackberry crumble on the palate. Gorgeous tangy finish, with some cherry pit and a wave of soft sandy tannins. Once again, very refreshing.

OMG. This is the best Barbera I have had from Chiara. Smooth and very feminine with impeccable balance. 92-93
