After nobody reviewed this for 3 years (and I’m sitting on a case), I decided to gamble and opened. Very closed initially, after 30 minutes of air it started to open. Alcohol prominent on entry (actually made my tongue “fizz”). Meaty and brambley Syrah, definitely a meeting of old and new style. Interesting and seems to be still quite youthful, no signs of age. Drink with a long decant or hold for 1-2 more years and see what happens.
Note: no discernible change on day 2 with Vacuvin.

Inky ruby. Reticent nose. Raw grape juice. Somewhat astringent, no noticeable wood or tannins (other than the astringency). Seems very young. Enjoyed but think it would be best to wait a year or two before trying again.

Drankard's review below hit this one on the head. Modern and too hot from the alcohol, this young wine feels creamy and oaky, with some chalky dark fruit. There are some Syrah notes - a bit of smoky blueberry and some olive, but it has a real southern Rhone feel, and blind I would have called a Grenache-dominant GSM blend. Maybe a few years will shed some of this, but I'm not interested in the raw materials enough to retry. Drinkable, but definitely not what I was hoping for, and will not buy again.

14.5 abv. Modern style Syrah with no sense of place. This is more southern Rhone than northern. Pass.
