  6th of 12, opened 30 minutes, perfect cork and level, cleaner and fresher than last bottle in 2016, pure, classy, quite glossy, fruit covering as yet unresolved tannin, bit too correct and anonymous, no rush. Just about F+ (18)....marginally more to it than previous day's Voerzio Serra 98.

  A private dinner (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): Pristine bottle, perfectly stored. Very fresh and youthful, black fruit, lively and fresh, firm but velvety tannins, undergrowth and roses and peaches, saddle leather and spices, silky texture, balanced and harmonious, elegant for its weight (14% ABV), serious but playful, lovely resonance and length. Exemplary, classical Barolo, at perfect peak.

  The fruit is fading fast and the tannins are mellow. There is some cigar box and saddle leather on the palate. Time to drink these up.

  A classic, mature Barolo. This wine was a pleasure to drink with its fading dark red fruits, saddle leather, good acidity and a medium finish.
