Powerful yet elegant Aussie Shiraz. Dark ruby color. Aromas of raspberry, eucalyptus and cocoa. Palate is rich with raspberry and plum fruit along with notes of root beer, baking spices, black licorice and Earl Grey Tea. Hint of vanilla on the long and lingering finish. The tannins are concentrated but well integrated. Plush, rich and intense, but beautifully balanced. Aging nicely.

Granted, you have to be in the mood for a Dooker. Xmas Eve. 1 hour decant. V is Clear, deep garnet, medium meniscus, high viscosity. Nose of gravel and slate, cocoa, coffee, a bit of licorice and mint. Can't really smell the fruit. But of course it smacks you on the palate. Blueberry, black currant, black cherry, plum and blackberry, with coffee and cocoa. Full bodied with med+ acidity, med+ chalky tannins. Long finish, medium+ complexity

Not as good as the 2012. Not by a mile. But still a well made fun fruit forward Aussie Shiraz. Well made but nothing extraordinary or memorable.
