At home at dinner (pasta with red sauce). This is a very nice wine. Deep, brooding ruby color. Decent legs too. Excellent nose has rich, smoky, varietal fruit. Pleasant surprise. Palate is relatively dense, earthy, with good, sweet, rich fruit flavors. There's a lot to like here, and I suspect it will only get better with age. Nose is just slightly hot and alcoholic. Good stuff. 4-10-15-7: 86/100.

Very, very bad. Very way too old.

Tasting 13 Pinot Noirs (Lafayette, Ca.): Nice, rich fruit on the nose, great mushroom and terroir on the nose, medicinal nose, lovely taste, great finish.
