Pours clear, mid ruby colour. Straightforward nose of cherries and beef stock. Medium bodied, flavours of cherry, almond, coffee and quince paste. Great QPR.

Very good Chianti, just beginning to get into its drinking window. Took quite a while to open up, then had strawberries and plums, with a tight acidic backbone. Very mouth cleansing. No rush to drink this!

Cherry, juicy orange, violets, and tobacco. Dense fruit, with piercing acidity providing lift. Oldschool. This one is not perfect, but it shows personality and it does not remind me of the chianti of any other producer. In fact, it reminds me more of Tondonia even though it is obviously not Rioja, but sangiovese. Probably a wine that will divide opinions. It drinks well now, but will probably be good (and not less interesting) for another ten years' time.

Better right after popping cork than with extended air. Nice cherry fruit with wet forest floor, mushrooms, eggplant and bell pepper (like a Ratatouille), and bright lemony acidity. Callum says apple and I get it—there’s just a hint of slightly sweet, but also bitter red apple skin, from the tannins. Good example of Chianti for the price, but not really worth more than the price (as I was told when I bought it).
Decent match with Tuscan Boar stew. The brightness really helped counter the heaviness of the dry boar meat. Not as good on day 2.

PnP. Flott klassisk duft av kirsebær, mandel og krydder. Dette er en årgang som fikk mer sol og varme og det merkes gjennom en bløt, mørk, bærfrukt. Plommer og solbær, god fylde gjennom kurven. Nedslipte tanniner og god avslutning med noe krydder, jord og lær. Har dratt på seg mer modning, drikk nå og over neste 3-5 år. 14 % abv.
