Pale gold in colour. Aromatic and subtle with white flowers and light caramel aromas. Buttery lemon with minerals, light smokey, caramalized flavours. Rich, with a long and harmonious finish.

Popped and decanted, drank over 5 hours. Banana nut cake on the nose. On the palate, viscous, creamy and rich but dry. Medium acidity, enough to do the job. Banana for days, with some other background tropical fruits. A slight hint of that white Rhone bitterness, but barely noticeable - the same with the heat. Restrained oakiness. Drinking very well right now, with no noticeable oxidation - I can't see it getting better, but it's definitely not past its peak. Great QPR at $21.

Cork's: Rhone (Rossford, OH): Sweet nose, with gobs of banana, a little raisin, and a creaminess - and almost notes of a light red wine. 14.5% alcohol gives this a viscous texture. Wow, massive christmas cookie. Nutty, spicy, very interesting. Perfect age, this is drinking beautifully. Fairly big body, medium acidity. Finish goes on for days. Delicious, and a steal for $21.

(Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Blanc Domaine Raymond Roure) Lovely golden yellow color; bright lemon, cream and mineral nose; gorgeous oily texture and wonderfully complex mineral and citrus palate with a creamy mouth feel; medium-plus finish 93+ pts. (great pairing with the salad)
