P: MF, poss Med, body; Quite RNDISH, SWTISH entry with a RICH, luscious swtness that is not at all cloying because of its lovely, BALANCING acidity. The finish is quite LONG with more of the same flavors, & if I remember correctly, but 14% ABV! My EXC+/Exceptional-, the QPR™ being off the charts! :)
™Though not TRULY '47 vintage (though that MAY have been the yr its solera was started?), I *do* know for a fact that it is QUITE old, having purchased it in ≈1990 when it was, believe it or not, $6 sugg retail!

I assume my grandfather bought this bottle. I had assumed this to be dead after decades in storage under my parent's home bar, but it was just fine. Shared with a number of folks at the local wine storage, then consumed the rest after a week in the fridge. Really interesting oxidized notes, a bit of date fruit, but generally pleasurable to drink. Doubt I'll ever see another bottle of this again!

Fairly intense raisin/dried Mission fig, sweet, but surprisingly fresh and lively, lifted and balanced by terrific acidity. An impressively cohesive mass, with underlying depth, difficult to describe, but overall just very tasty. Thanks Elliot!

a treat to try, thank you E from Ep, through esteele90. Lightly browned ruby color. Nose cinnamon and nutmeg with some grapey essence, like a vermouth. Palate surprisingly and very pleasingly fresh, lightly nutty with baking spices, light body in the mouth; notes of figs per J. A hit, still drinking really well, fascinating. Great with dessert. 95 pts

Deep dark amber-brown, bordering on opaque in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of overly ripe fruit aromas of raisins/figs, orange rind & dried plums with toffee & caramel oxidized overtones, some coffee grounds, hazelnuts & a hint of VA in the background. Full bodied with a good concentration of semi-sweet ripe fruit flavors figs/raisins, dates & orange rind with caramel, toffee & a hint of oxidized notes in the background. Drinks quite well at present & see no need to age it any further. A solera-aged dessert wine from Cyprus from native grapes. Indicative blend is Xynisteri and Mavro. Quite sherry like. Well worth seeking out to experience, if only for once.
