Colour: light straw, green tinge, bright, clear Nose: v full, fresh although a touch musky, petrol dominates. Taste: light body, v ripe, rounded, leads with good fruit than citrus, some petrol, v dry and good acidity, med finish, citrus, v dry. Overall, very enjoyable. This develops beautifully into an intense combination of ripe fruit and citrus with an intriguing dose of petrol. Compared with Tim Smith Riesling 2021, a Salomon Undhof Kögl Riesling 2021 and a Bassermann Jordan Ungeheuer 2021. No clear winner. All good.

Fantastic Riesling. Dry and delicious. Medium body, laser acidity, but with excellent balance. Mild petrol on the nose mixed with lovely florals. It feels Alsatian but with a lighter body and zippier acidity. Really lovely -- my favorite Riesling from my New Zealand 2018 trip.

Blind Tasting - New Zealand Dry Riesling (Flat Bush, Auckland): Super fresh, some minerals, feel a little more intensity on both sweetness and acidity than Neudorf. Voted #1 by group. I thought it’s my neudorf, voted it #1 as well. The balance is breathtaking rather than stable and relax.
The fruits came from Block 2 of The Elms vineyard was hand-picked then carefully whole bunch pressed, followed by a long slow fermentation (6 weeks) with indigenous yeasts to almost complete dryness (6g/L RS).

Fresh, salty, and spicy nose. It’s a terrific wine - on the off-dry side of dry, with zesty citrus and stacks of minerality. Extraordinary length.
