A very nice Pinot. A touch alcoholic as the 14.5% does show, but brooding dark fruits with some dark cherry stand out against spice, a touch of an old cabin smell really pull together well. Did not need a decant, but drink a bit out of the bottle and letting it sit for a little helped it softly open. Quite rewarding experience, though to me it is positively an american style pinot. Might be due to my lack of drink similar aged grand cru burgundies.
I would advise drinking in the next two years as I don't see it gaining anything else really, and the fruit is still showing well and not dusty at all.

Wasn’t sure if it would still hold up. Little worried as cork had some seepage. Decanted and waited an hour. Dusty berry notes, not bright red, garnet color, but not oxidized brown at all. Smooth, still a bit of tannin, shorter finish, but pleasant. May need to call Galen for another! Tasted in 2017 at the winery.

Had the opportunity to open a bottle now 15 years aged in the cellar. It has done remarkably well. Did not breathe or decant. Has not turned brown, remains a dark burgundy with plum and cherry on the nose and in the mouth. Tannins are still present but quite smooth. Earthy and medium bodied. The finish lingers. Saved a glass for day 2 and it holds up beautifully. This wine could be mistaken for a grand cru French burgundy.

Acidity is still present, tannins resolved, dried red fruit notes. Drink up now.

This bottle was not as good as the first one, but still pretty. Didn't hold up as well after being opened, so I would recommend against decanting.
