Was a little sceptical due to the age of the wine, but it showed to be in exelent condition. Yellow / golden colour. Chalk / mineral / lime on the nose. Very acidic, which probably is why it has kept for so long? Good concentration and length, but maybe not Grand Cru complexity. Anyway, very impressive for a 1er Cru.

Last bottle of this and the best showing yet. Mineral, slightly floral elements, but mainly mineral with good weight and instensity whilst keeping a classic Chablis line. This really is lovely. Steely and impressive. A touch better than an excellent 2000 Brocard Vaucopin yesterday. **** Still excellent on day 2.

Similar to the flawed bottle in October last year. Not quite a golden colour, but mid yellow. Fairly flat and dul on the nose and palate. Perfectly drinkable, but why bother?

Mid yellow; no pox. Previous bottle must just have been a bit prem-ox. This is absolutely lovely and just how a mature 1er cru should be. Lovely floral, rounded nose, some minerality, floral elements and a slightly honeyed creaminess on entry and then a mineral core with lime fruit, good length and nicely complex. Really lovely and engaging. ****

White Burgundy followed by many others (Sydney, Australia): Very dark colour. Oxidative nose. Palate is harsh and didn't come around with time. I don't seem to have much luck with these Defaix bottles.
