I’m thinking this bottle was flawed, if not, definitely past prime. White burgundy #novacru tasting. Dark yellow in the glass. Flabby. Petrrol, chemical element. Lacking acid.

This was pleasant, fuller bodied but with good acidity when first opened. Definitely on the downslope, as noted by other reviews. On day two, the remaining half of the bottle, stored in the fridge, was very flat with little except acidity left. Not unpleasant, just uninteresting. Drink what you have soon.

Past peak or just flat & tedious, this 16 white entry level Burgundy from François Carillon presented an uneventful drinking experience. Straw-yellow, emerging light golden in the glass. Fairly mute (restrained or bottomed-out?) nose with notes of citrus, smoke, minerality, peach. Palate, medium-bodied, is equally restrained, lacking not only fruit concentration but also acidity. Mature fruit as per nose, flat structure, ample richness, and with the most brief finish I have had in a while. Not flawed, but faded.

Delivers just what I would dial up for a basic white burgundy. Well-balanced even if possibly a little on the full side. Complemented by salty minerality. I would not be inclined to push my luck on how long it will retain its freshness.

Surprisingly still delivers. Went well with a rotisserie chicken and still some fruity nuances.
