Double decanted, I found this to be heavy handed and clumsy, biting tannins, especially on the finish. It might smooth out more with time in the cellar. Hold 2026-2032

Deep ruby. Pronounced aromas of red plum, black plum, redcurrant, blackcurrant, chocolate, vanilla, cedar, pine, dried herbs. Medium+ acidity, high silky tannins, full-bodied. Long finish. This wine is outstanding and suitable for further ageing.

Full bodied, dark berry fruit that is rich and expressive with spice notes, leather, tobacco and cassis. This blend is actually sweet on the palate. This wine is drinking VERY well right now with its tannins silky smooth after a 30 minute decant.

Nice wine made in a more modern style. Fruit is fairly primary at this stage. Tannins are present but not overbearing. Not sure how much more this will develop with age given the new world flair here.

pretty decent acid given the backdrop of power, oak, and super ripe fruit. no nuance can be discerned amidst the coarse tannin, high alcohol, and "classy" oak treatment.
it's a shame because there's a lot here to enjoy...
it's clearly discernable as old world (funky, tobacco, earth galore) and given the acid i struggle to speak ill of it given the super ripe vintage and that it's a SUPER Tuscan..
drinking window wise, this could benefit from the tannin chilling out, but I wouldn't want to try this with fruit this rich/clunky raisined and oxidized. the tannin may decrease but idk... i wouldn't gamble and would consume within the next 5 years
