Unless you have dotcom or whatever this generation's equivalent money is, you sometimes have to drink a cheap bottle of wine, especially with friends who'd struggle to distinguish 2 buck Chuck from an Aubert single vineyard. Recent Costco purchase at about $10. PnP. Muted nose of apples and pears with some oak. Similar on the palette with a dash of citrus, butter and still more oak. Moderate acidity gives this wine enough backbone to be solidly quaffable, as good or better as numerous chards at twice its price. A bit more acidity and a bit less oak and we'd actually be talking about a good wine, even without the qpr. Decent accompaniment for chicken or fish. Not going to change your life--hell, you won't want to admit to your wine-loving friends you use it for anything other than removing shoe polish--not complex, and drink now for sure, but go ahead and shoot me, I think this is pretty damned pleasant and a worthy member of my cheapo wine hall of fame. Serve cold. 88-89

Medium yellow color. Strong fruit and oak aromas. Big mouthfeel, nice acid and good fruit flavors. This is a big chardonnay that shows a close relationship with oak.

Tangy, tart creamy citrus and pear. Good with salmon.
