At this point nose is toned down, almost a cross between a pinot blanc-dominated sparkling wine and an old-fashioned Rhône white — some oxidation, some lees, some barrel fermentation. Color is surprisingly light. Some oxidation in the taste with the customary not-quite-ripe Anjou pear and a touch of almond. Good acidity but do definitely drink up.

A "crunchy" nose of Bartlett pear, under ripe honeydew, Meyer lemon rind and pith, magnolia, cream and (the only way I can say it), summer meadow air. Nice weight on the palate upon entry, but the acid lifts it nicely. Nice interplay of texture and brightness. Lemon curd, fresh pears, Gravenstein apple, snap peas, citrus squeeze and some peach. Suggestion of green melon on the finish. The acid is nice, but doesn't wash the palate clean, so the wine lingers nicely for a while. Pair with anything from seafood, fowl to pork.

I was impressed with this at the winery. 90ish rating
With a meal it proved less impressive - 87ish. Bottle variation or just a wine that that doesn't have the body to accompany plain-cooked salmon or tuna?
