Still lots of reduction. Dark cherry, pie spice, Cameron funk and earth, still pretty tightly wound. Medium acid, some fine grained tannins. Slightly tart finish. Solid wine for the cost and has the stylistic idiosyncrasies the Cameron wines normally have. Drinking well now but will hold several more years.

Some reduction but it blows off after about an hour. Dark berry, black cherry, earth, slight baking space. Last tasted on release about 18 months ago and still seems very youthful. This may be his entry level pinot, but it's got the stuffing to go for several more years. Really impressive and drinking well, but will hold off for about two more years before opening another. A good reminder on how well his wines age and why it's worth stocking up on this wine while the higher end cuvees age.

My last bottle. Excellent stuff. Funkier than previous bottles but in a good way. Still decent depth to the fruit. While a recent '14 was great and still improving, this '16 seems better for early enjoyment. There's ample ripeness but the mid palate is a bit light, suggesting that while it's lovely in its youth it might not reward longer aging. Yes, I know these aren't meant for aging, and it's just the entry level wine, but the riper '14 and '15 both seemed to require some time. In any case, excellent wine and if I had more I'd keep drinking steadily over the next year or two.
But, I don't have more. I somehow only bought six of these. Then I ordered a case of '17 only to have them destroyed in transit. I've made up for that by going deeper on the DH and RR. May go back for even more while it's still around.

Wow! This bottle was just fire. Funk out of the gate, but incredibly pure fruit on the palate. Took no time to open up and perform either. Wish I had a couple of cases of this. Ridiculous value.
