  • not blind, decanted for 1 hour
Needs a lot of time, I would decant it at least for 6 hours. A bit tight and closed, opened up later. Saline, dry and with some exotic fruits in the end. 93-94

  • Opened at the Victuals in HK. Decanted immediately upon opening, but enjoyed fairly quickly after.

This was opened after a Riesling heavy evening as a bonus to the line-up, and was also the only one that was decanted. As I've had the pleasure of enjoying more Kellers, I do feel that they really can handle air and some of their tightly wound energy and acidity loosens up with patience, allowing more of the fruit, petrol and floral notes to come through. This was no exception, and was a rounder wine than the previous ones as a result.

Not as much power as the Morstein in the same flight, and not quite as precise as the Kirchspiel, but a gorgeous wine nonetheless. Am loving the 2017 GGs from Keller. They can definitely age for longer, and patience will be rewarded, but also don't hesitate to drink with enough air.

  • Initially very shy on the nose. Decanted for an hour and re-tasted. Still pretty tightly coiled but starting to unfurl. Baked pineapple, persimmon, rambutan, tarragon, and what can best be described as horchata on the nose. Palate is super intense with deep concentration. Loads of ripe persimmon, pineapple upside down cake, peach gummies, and some oolong tea. After a couple hours more of the classic markers of riesling emerge; petrol, lemon oil, kaffir lime leaf. Acid was ripping and kept things lively though it did feel a little hot at times. I'm inclined to not touch my other two for at least 5 more years or at the very least slow ox for awhile before tasting.

  • A touch of petrol strikes the nose right away as it leans into tones of pineapple, papaya, green apples, white peaches, nectarines, jasmine, white flowers, acacia flowers, crushed rocks, lemon peels, and a touch of vanilla. The Medium bodied feel is vibrant and fresh with racy, high acidity and a lengthy finish. This feels like it's entering a drinking phase, though on the early side. The tropical nature of it has come well into balance while the acidity still makes your mouth water. As per usual, Keller is kinda awesome.

  • Delightful but suffered from being served pop n'pour. Really could've used a few hours of slow-ox like the other Kellers at the table. So much concentrated, taut white fruit with lots of emerging complexity. Better towards the end of dinner.
