  Cedar and dark fruit on the nose. Pomegranate, cherry, earthy flavors, black pepper, and bitter herb on the palate. Full bodied and medium to long finish.

  Ungiving on night one, even after 3 hours. Muted notes of black currant and forest floor, with a heavy dose of oak. Opened up a bit on night two, with integrated notes of blackberry, black currant, and oak, with hints of bell pepper in the background. The plush, velvety mouthfeel is a plus.

  Decanted 3 hrs. Having just had the 14 Grand Puy Lacoste a few days ago, I can say without hesitation the nose on this is a dead ringer for a young Left Bank. Cedar, sweet cassis, flowers and more than subtle touch of earth, most enjoyable. In making this a comparison themed note, certainly more dense than its Bordeaux cousins, it nonetheless sports a classic medicinal black cherry profile that while certainly being ripe, never comes across as sweet. Love the mix of cab sav and cab franc here, perfectly playing off each other, with the franc adding savory notes To the party. Balanced, and very fresh, this is quite an accomplishment for a 15 from Red Mt. Scorching hit site, scorching hot vintage. While this is rewarding early drinking this will be a beauty in 5 to 10 years.

  Cadence's 2015 Tapteil Vineyard bottling is a Bordeaux-style blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Cabernet Franc and 21% Merlot. Opaque crimson and brimming with black and blue fruit, it adds notes of licorice, graphite, bittersweet chocolate, tobacco and characteristic Washington State tree bark. Full-bodied and freshly acidic, it wraps its fruit with sturdy tannins and spicy oak. The wine's alcohol (listed as 14.4%) is nicely integrated and the mid-palate is impressively dense. Closing with a lengthy finish that carries some tannic grip, this is an outstanding red that will benefit from a bit more cellar time. Drink 2021-2030.
