This is my last bottle and the first bottle of this wine that is even drinkable. Not unhappy that this is my last bottle but at least passable for pinot.

I'm not sure if this is over the hill, but it isn't enjoyable. Pop and pour, and consumed over 2 days. The nose is quite shy, but once in a while you get a nuanced whiff of earthy, rich rocks amongst some funk. The palate is disappointing, reminiscent of cherry koolaid, vodka and anise. Second day was similar, but calmer.

Translucent rusty red-orange colour. Big, dank, complex nose: barnyard merde, earth, truffle, menthol, wet cedar. Medium+ body. The palate is equally complex, with black currant, some cherry, some orange zest, a bit of green bell pepper, leather, iron, and a handful of peppery spices. Still fresh and crisp, with mouth watering acidity and balanced, silky tannins. Drinking beautifully in 2013... at least for the first 24 hours.
By the second night, it was dead. I give it a 91 on day one, and 79 or thereabouts on day two.

Nose: dishwater, potpourri, black cherry, grape stem.
Palate: Green grapes and stems, anise, cherry, red bell pepper, fried green tomato.
Smooth texture with a medium finish. No hint of age, although there's no reason to hope it gets any better. Drink now, later, or ideally, never.
