Not much has changed in the last two years or so which is quite admirable. The wine remains racy, slightly austere, funky and spicy with animale, olives, bay leaf, sour red and black forest fruit. I am not a huge fan of this style of Syrah, but to all those guys despising blockbuster California stalwarts like Saxum and SQN this wine might be a silver lining on the cloud of parkerisation)

Blackberry, black pepper, Asian five spice, sweaty horse. Juicy, savoury, fleshy, balanced, savoury blackberry, floury texture, long, young but lovely.

Dark ruby with a splash of purple. Very bright varietal aromas of black pepper, violets and red and Black Forest fruit, some earth and bay leaf. Plenty of oak but well integrated. Racy yet ripe on the palate. Drink now and in the next 7-10 years.

Découvertes en Vallée du Rhône; 4/15/2019-4/16/2019 (Ampuis, Mauves and Tain-l'Hermitage): Walk around tasting talking with the producers, brief note. 10% Viognier. Bold, fleshy and ripe start, then lighter middle through finish. Enjoyable young.
