Piedmont; 2/11/2019-2/15/2019 (Alba, Italy): At Enoclub. This is a really nice wine that comes off as a bit of a classed up rose with its super pale salmon colour. The nose has a slight bit of green on it (a mild touch of pyrazine?) but also a mild fruit character. Something on the palate made me feel like there was a slight bit of fizz (though no one else picked that up), and there's a touch of sweetness and roundness here that I really liked. This ended up drinking more like a rose than a white wine (I think the pinot noir gives this added heft and weight), but it was definitely a fun wine to try.

Not quite "white" - it still has bit of a pinkish hue. Slightly spritzy upon opening. Apricot, strawberries, and grapefruit on the nose. Feels like a cousin of a pinot grigio texturally - crisp, mineralic and refreshing - but a with a touch more substantial body. Citrus pith on the finish. Super interesting to try and aromatically unique, makes me wonder why more winemakers don't do this "blanc de noir" thing for still wines.

Here we go atruffling... (aka Piedmont... and Veneto); 11/16/2018-11/30/2018 (Alba, Guarene, Modena, Barolo, La Morra, Lake Garda .....): This is very much in the style of white that I enjoy. Even with the warmer vintage it's very high in acidity. Almost feels a hint spritz like. Bone dry, but very fruity. Lots of wild strawberry. Something that is both refreshing and interesting. First time I've had a wine in this style, but I quite liked it.

2018 Cavallotto visit with Giuseppe Cavallotto (Tenuta Bricco Boschis, Castiglione Falletto): 100% Pinot Noir, made in a white wine style. Light red coloured. On bouquet, strawberries, raspberries, blood orange and grapefruit. A refreshing wine for a hot day. A good picnic wine. Red berry and citrus fruit. Totally dry.
