Beautiful. The Gevrey “aux echezaux” 17 next to it was definitely more ready. This needs some more bottle time to completely unfold, but you can already sense some of its brilliance. Great concentration of fruit, but very light and elegant in character. On the nose strawberries, red cherry, cola, herbal notes, floral, touch of vanilla. Beautiful acidity. In 5-10 years, this will be a banger.

Red cherry fruit fruit, sous-bois, salty med tannic grip and med acid. 13.5% Alc.
Somewhat reticent right now, like a lighter-bodied red cherry version of its more open and black cherry-fruited 2016 cousin. This 17’ wants airtime to unfurl and a good meal.

Blind...Ha- seemed older than the '16 next to it. Herbal. Serious wine. Not as exuberantly youthful. Has more restrained sense of spice and palate intensity. More integrated. Very Supple. Lovely, but I prefer the '16 tonight, and I don't think it's age-relative. fwiw

Good power and elegance but a tad too young and primary for my preference. While left to bottle breathe over approx. 2 hours at this stage, this was still a little too tight and stubborn to really start showing. To be clear I think it was good but could be way better with a bit more time to unfurl.

Fourrier’s high-toned refined style worked incredibly in 2017, yielding suave and approachable wine. Tasted blind - high pitched fresh mixed fruits and earthy Gevrey notes. A sense of rawness and high-pitched ethereal note. Young and vibrant with smooth tannins. 2017 Fourrier Gevrey Combe Aux Moine?(91/100)
