2018 Visit to Domaine Faiveley (Nuits St. Georges): Domaine fruit here. Wow, an expressive, fragrant bouquet of mainly black fruit and gentle dark florals with a little menthol. Quite lovely. A sweet-seeming entry of lots of juicy dark fruit. Fine and elegant with suave, refined tannins. More weight and power across the mid and back palate but with power and grace. Superb.

Faiveley Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 10, Visit 2) (Nuits St.-Georges): Barrel tasting at Faiveley. Also slightly reductive to start. Starts and finished rather elegant for young LSG, with a more expected firmness in the middle. Very good length. This domaine wine will be blended with purchased grapes into a larger single cuvee (starting with 2016 vintage).
