An opulent and inviting wine, with notes of raspberry, cherry, white flowers and menthol. There’s a light smokiness running through the wine and it has layer upon layer of delicious flavours in the mouth. A complex and engaging wine of real class and character.

The Ravera showed the most potential and was the most moving from this flight of ‘17s. Here I found a dark, mineral-laden mix of savory black cherry and spice, with herbal forest and earth tones. On the palate, I found soft textures, with tannin arriving early, yet nearly masked by a spicy mix of black fruits, peppery herbs and earthy minerality, which seemed to saturate the senses. The finish was long, with masses of black fruit, staining spice and mineral tones, hauntingly dark inner florals, and long-lasting tannins. The ‘17 Ravera is a beast of a wine that is incredibly balanced and (dare I say) classic in its expression. (94 - 97 points)

Barrel and Bottle Tasting with Luca Currado (Vietti Winery, Castiglione Falletto): (Barrel Sample) The nose was exotic yet currently quite reductive, beneath the surface it showing intense red and black fruits with crushed stone and dried florals. It was so pure on the palate, showing ripe red and black fruits, saturating minerals and spice with zesty acids. There are masses of fruit to be found here, yet perfectly balanced with tannins and acid. It’s a structured and hulking wine that I’m really looking forward to following. Wow. (95-97 points)

Complex, with all sorts of red berry and dark cherry fruits. It is sense and powerful, with chalky tannins carrying the long finish.
