Blind tasting against other California Chardonnays and White Burgundy from 2000-2005. This was fabulous. Lot's of white fruit, pear, oak, and other things on the nose. Very complex. On the palate, rounder, oily, fruit, some sea notes, with minerality and the right amount of acidity. I was sure this was a White Burgundy and many others agreed.
We enjoyed this last night with another couple and it was amazing! Yes, it's very pricey but it was on par, or superior, to Marcassin's, Marcassin Vineyard, which is my reference point for Cali Chards that get better with age. I'll be buying more when the 2012's are offered to the mailing list.
