Margerum's 2017 Sybarite, comprised of 100% Sauvignon Blanc, is fashioned as a Loire-styled expression of the grape. Fermented in stainless steel, 85% of the wine was then aged for 10 months in stainless steel tanks, with 15% being aged in neutral oak barrels and pipes. Limpid and light yellow/green in color, it offers a core of lime zest, honeydew, orange creamsicle, green apples and wet stones. There is a hint of oak and freshly cut grass on the middle palate that adds complexity to this light-bodied white. With seamless alcohol (12.5%) and a lengthy finish, this is a delight to drink. Enjoy it as an apéritif or pair it with light fare. Drink now-2021.

From a 500 ml can. Pale light straw in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of grapefruit, lemons/limes & apples with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle, minerals, wet stones & lemongrass. Light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of lemons & limes, white grapefruit & tart green apples, with lemongrass, stony & minerals. Lingering crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present but may benefit from an additional year of further aging even though it is in a 500 ml can. An excellent Summer picnic wine & beach in this format.

Very pale color, honeysuckle, lemon, green apple, hints of lemongrass. Fruitier than I’d prefer, but an excellent drinking wine for the price point.
