Fascinating wine. So interesting to see the Nebbiolo grape easily beat Cabernet for the dominant flavor. This started to oxidize after a few days, so I’d say it’s best to drink up. It’s very nice on PnP. Curious to try this wine when it’s younger.

Deep red. Intriguing nose that shows its Nebbiolo and Barbera dominance. Actually, the blend is 35% Nebbiolo, 25% Barbera, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. A tasty blend, exquisitely made, that should continue to develop due to its acid-fruit-alcohol balance. But is it worth the price elevated by the "Gaja" name?

Dried blueberry and black cherry, leather, tar, eucalyptus, rose, anise and smoked herbs. Medium bodied with elevated acidity and some decent grippy tannin. Elegant and complex. Still opening up at the 9hr mark. Beckons for a rich creamy mushroom dish. Drink over the next 5-10

Sour cherries, tar, leather, black currants. It’s like a Barolo and a Bordeaux had a child. It drank really well with a 30 minute decant but kept getting better overnight. This has plenty of life ahead of it.

Decanted 3 hours and I highly recommend decanting. Pure heavy grape aroma upon decanting w/tight leather & tar nose. Initial pour provided full heavy cherries & soft cinnamon nose. Legs proved to be tight and balanced. Flavor of heavy plums. light graphite. Full enjoyable finish. Outstanding w/Mushroom Risotto
