Three hour decant. Very deep ruby magenta color. Black cherry, mulberry, blackberry jelly, and subtle cremini mushroom on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate, with fine, soft, lingering acidity. Firm, but soft tannins on the medium long finish (the acid on the tongue lingers longer). Awesome QPR.

Menu decant. Very deep magenta color. Black cherry gum drop, cinnamon-infused pomegranate, graphite, and subtle charred incense on the fragrant nose. Smooth and very dry palate. Firm tannins on the medium long finish.
This continued to improve over an hour of drinking. Two hour traditional decant is recommended. Awesome QPR here.

One hour double decant, followed by a one hour slow ox. Very very deep magenta color. Warm blackberry cobbler dominates the nose. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, low intensity tannins on the longish finish. This is a straightforward, easy drinker.

Retail $75. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Big Ass Bottle. This (and the Chardonnay) was my first introduction to Mi Sueño, and I am impressed (other than the really heavy bottles). Like the Chard, this has spent considerable time in oak (21 months, French) with a considerable percentage new (65%). But, also like the Chard, this does not come off as heavy-handed, in fact, quite the opposite. Good fruit on both the nose and the palate, but this wine is also loaded with plenty of intrigue, particularly on the midpalate with mocha, spice, and where the chalky tannins creep in. This is very nice now but might improve in the short-term. thedrunkencyclist.com

The 2016 vintage just keeps getting better and expected to be just fabulous in years to come. This is one of their best vintages and it is just very enjoyable and inexpensive for the quality of this wine.
