There is no malolactic fermentation. Aging in the bottle for 3 years with a cork stopper. • Disgorged July 2018 with 3 grams of dosage of PM. This had a meaty pear note, seemingly approachable and easy to drink. It didn't have the complexity of the 14 Pinot Noir and 14 Chardonnay.

  • A lovely Meunier champagne. Disgorged Apr 2019, 3 g/l dosage. Beautiful lemon curd, super fresh, moderate weight. A wonderful option for its price.

  • A 100% Pinot Meunier with all the fruit sourced from La Grosse Pierre vineyard located in Ludes, Montagne de Reims. Aged for 8 months in demi-muids, no MLF. Disgorged in September 2018, dosage 3 g/l.

Pale lemon yellow color. Somewhat dark-toned and slightly toasty nose with subtly sweet-toned aromas of creamy richness, some almondy nuttiness, a little bit of banana, light fruity tones of golden apples and a slightest hint of savory oak spice. The wine is dry, crisp and clean with pure flavors of creaminess, some sharp leesy tones reminding me of natural yoghurt (without any lactic qualities), a little bit of fresh and tart golden apples, light sweeter tones of yellow stone fruits and tangy hint of saline minerality. Smooth, creamy mousse. The high acidity lends wonderful precision and intensity to the wine. The finish is broad, ripe and quite long with flavors of juicy, sweet-toned golden apples and white peach, some autolytic toast, a little bit of leesy yeast, light sharp notes of Granny Smith apple and a hint of nutty oak.

A lovely, nuanced and still so very youthful vintage Meunier. The overall style here is very precise with a good combination of ripeness of fruit, bright acidity and cool, mineral core. In comparison this wine felt a bit more accessible and brighter compared to the more robust and darker-toned Pinot Noir 4 Éléments, but stylistically these were very similar - this one perhaps more about finesse, whereas the Pinot Noir was more sturdy and robust. Fine and balanced stuff, all the same. I'd let the wine wait for some years more, because it felt still quite tightly-wound and nervous at the moment. Shows good potential.
