Peppery and tannic. Good structure, not terribly complex. Nice with steak, a bit astringent on its own. Probably would be better given a couple more years to settle down.

I liked the label better than the wine. This Cabernet was OK and for the price might be considered by some a good value. I found the fruit to be thin and unexceptional. This may have been a gift and I will not purchase it for myself.

Bought for 46 from a garden restaurant last night (current best Searcher Pro is about 24 so not a bad markup; house charges 20 corkage). No decant, none needed, but opened a half hour early to allow some breathing. Purple; fragrant blackcurrant, blackberry, some acacia flower (!); body was a bit of a letdown with hollow midpalate, though still tasty, good mouthfeel; clipped finish. Nose might persist with aging, but wonder about body. Would not buy retail, but might do again at that lovely outdoor restaurant. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable when considering quality, age, and restaurant price.

I was a bit disappointed in the 2014 but this vintage lived up to expectations. Enjoyed by all, served with a beef roast.

Give it at least a 2-hour decant and drink within 4 hours. Decant should increase the rating by 2 to 3 points.
