This is quite good. Made in a modern-Burgundian type style, there is definitely that smoky reductive quality on the nose. Not a ton of fruit on the palate, but a nice wash of crisp citrus. Just a hint of roundness and a touch of the tropical discloses its origin. Good acidity, apparently only partial malo. Somewhat curtailed finish. For $22 US, it's a winner.

Served in SIA lounge. Not very expressive on the nose. Young and slightly sweet on the palate, to my surprise. Hints of lemon and honey. Lacks complexity and length. Quaffable.

Pale lemon in the glass. Quite expensive on the wine list, thought this was going to have more complexity, but it was rather fruit-driven and steely, almost like a Riesling. Light on its feet with no traces of MLF or oak. Some crushed gravel. Acidic, medium finish. Hard to finish a glass of this and really enjoy it, so best to pair it with some richer food and forget about it.

Return to Aus; 6/23/2019-7/5/2019 (Adelaide, South Australia wine regions, Tassie, Yarra, etc.): Caveat that Chardonnay isn't my grape of choice. Some tin on the nose. More sour. Lemon. A bit of minerals. Made to be a cool climate style wine. No malo here. It's a fairly easy wine for a chard, but again still a chard.

Giant Steps & Yeringberg New Releases (Prince Wine Store South Melbourne): A blend of the vineyards. By far the most approachable of the chardonnays. Showing some signs of development.
