  • I may have opened this one a tad bit early. But my Burgundy journey is still in its infancy so who knows.

No decant, but bottle’s been open for about an hour. Shows aromas of plum, blackcurrant, red cherry, raspberry, wet soil, a hint of cocoa powder. On the palate, the wine is simultaneously silky and broad-shouldered, packing a punch of raspberry, sour cherry,
and a touch of citrus on the midpalate. Bright and exciting, but could likely use a few more years of bottle age to sweeten things out (for my tastes only!).

  • opened an hour before dinner, this poured very dark. this felt very closed to me, the nose and mouth were somewhat closed and didnt really open up for the rest of the dinner. plenty of acid and tannins that point to potential. I would probably let these rest for another few years.

  • Fairly light bodied and elegant. Blue/black fruited and deep color. Subtle vanilla, citrus lift, and great minerality on the finish. A welcome diversion from some of the bigger wines I have been tasting through lately.

Drink now for a perfectly ripe Burgundian fruit forward experience or hold.

  • On open lots of red and black current, cranberries, black tea, a bit thin. As I drank I was thinking this wine is why I like Cote de Nuits better. After an hour it starts to open, a bit softer opens up to floral, violets, spice, cardemum, red berries, a hint of fennel that finishes a bit stronger like anise. A bit mouth puckering and drying on the gums, makes you want to take another sip. Nose is becoming a bit sweeter as it opens more and more. An old school very good burgundy that I think will be better in 3 years and forward.

Update. The above is for the first half of the bottle. Never got around to finish the 2nd half. Vacu pumped and in fridge. Four (4) days later and it’s just as good … still delicately floral, less drying and tannic … I’d might rate it higher day…. 4.

  • Delicious! No decant but best at hour 2 of drinking. Great QPR, too.
