  • Again a wonderful cork. This one different. Strong eucalyptus smell and taste which got stronger over time. Not unpleasant but felt like a variation on the last bottle. Apologies to non Australians who haven't had Vick's Vapour Rub stuck on their chest as a kid with a cold or walked in a eucalyptus forest, think menthol/bush/floral herb I guess. Was moreish and appreciated the preservation of tannin/acidity/fruit profile at this extended age.

  • Cork just stained at end of rim, no ullage so obviously a bottle in great condition. Deep nose of aged fruit, mulberries. Gorgeous mid body wine of clear age but not entirely tertiary. Very smooth wine, no angular juts or dips in fruit/acidity/tannin. Worth a high rating. 2nd bottle had a damped, muted fruit character with a slight soapy taste to it and wasn't as good - the vagaries of the cork gods. Score is for better bottle.

  • Red colour with slight brownish rim. Immidiately lots of wet wool and mold nose. Better after an hour of decanting. Blackberry and Chocolate and vanilla nose. Soft and concentrated wine. Great fruit and good acidity on the palate. Good lenght. Impressive wine for the price. On top now.

Impressive wine for the price. Obviously a wine that is made for cellaring. Still young.

  • Surprisingly assertive acidity and still some grainy tannins, yet the fruit is definitely fading without offering much tertiary aged complexity. Maybe a better bottle might have a future, but on the strength of this bottle, both past and future appear unbalanced.
