Wines over Chinese New Year; 2/8/2024-2/12/2024: Previous notes described this well. Intense, floral nose of blueberries that carried onto the palate. So northern Rhone with savoury, olive notes, but with remarkable restraint, depth and finesse that I didn't expect. A superbly balanced wine, this is a producer that I will be seeking out more of.

Yesterday I had wine with lovely black currant in smell and in taste. Today I drink wine with incredible smell and taste of blueberries! This is my first wine, where blueberry is so dominant, so elegant and so tasty same time! What a juice! We have something else here of course. In smell: blackberry, milk chocolate, forest. As you see it's not so complicated, but it's so nice. Taste: flavors match aromas. Plus red cherry, sweet vanilla. Everything is in full harmony with acidity (soft, but very juicy). Tannins are also soft, but pleasantly grippy in finish. No spice, no pepper, no cinnamon in the end ( and no 100 pts.😉)

Deep purple color. This is still young and slightly closed, a quick decant didn‘t crack it open right away. Aromatics are slowly building up with some more air, pretty notes of cassis, blueberries, some bacon, also some crushed violets, crushed rocks, some spices, a touch of herbal notes too and some animalic/leathery notes. Tasted next to the Crozes-Hermitage Trois Chênes 2018, this is a clear step up in elegance and finesse. Beautiful texture with medium-full body, excellent mid-palate persistence and medium+ tannin that will need a little bit of time to integrate, very silky though. There is medium-high acidity adding beautiful freshness. Long finish with building complexity. A great St-Joseph from this excellent producer. I can‘t wait to see how this will age! (94+)
