  • I drank this 7 months ago and thought it had excellent body and structure but the alcohol overwhelmed everything. Not today. This bottle belongs in the top rank of Washington cabernet - rich and lush, blackberry and cassis, a dark red/black fruit something on the order of black raspberry, a balance of acid and tannin though the tannin shuts the wine down a little quickly as the bottle stays open. I did not decant and that seems to be right as two hours later, as I finish the last bit of it post-dinner, it’s starting to shut down a bit prematurely. This is really quite extraordinary - I’ve always thought Adams Bench wines were under-appreciated and this wine makes that point most definitively. Wonderful wine.

  • Double decant. Concentrated red and blue fruits. Heavy Vanilla and oaky character is there but not in a bad way. It is dry and tannic but It’s smooth and delicious. Pedal to the metal. A guilty pleasure!

  • Nice flavors and body - but the alcohol overwhelmed everything. Drank over two days - the second was better because the alcohol was tamed. I’ll wait and also drink this after a lengthy decant and at about 60 degrees, all to try to control the alcohol level. I love Adams Bench wines, but not this one.
