Outstanding at age 18. All elements well integrated but by no means are we at end of life. This will stay on top for at least another 5 years. Finesse over power.

2005 Cote Rotie La La & Co. - 15 years of age: Tasted blind. Brooding, dark color. Nose of dark fruit, also some gingerbread and red fruit comes into play, closed still. The palate is medium+ bodied, lots of tannins to shed still. Wait.

Tasted by glass from Praelum. Dark fruit, black cherry, smoke and meat. Well rounded off, medium body but so elegant. Great structure, well integrated acidity and medium plus length. Just a hint of age. Finish is consistent and delicious. Almost no tannin on first sip, but a late fine grained tannic bite emerged after some time. Really good Syrah - not an all time great but such a good glass of wine

overly polished, ripe and earthy. Stands out a bit too much among the 05 levet next to it which felt more balanced and complex.
