Quite dark and heavy for Pinot noir. Some thought it was Syrah when tasted blind. Med+ tannins and lacked acidity. Fun to try Eyrie’s whole cluster cuvee but not a bottle I would seek out.

Nose: Med + int, primary & secondary aromas of black cherry, strawberry, brambles, some baking spice, and smoke. Aromas are dense and tight on day one, day two fleshes out a bit. Developing.
Palate: Dry, pronounced flavors, med+ acid, med+ tannin, full body, med+ finish. Flavors match the nose well, nicely balanced, though a little too extracted for my tastes, too dense and chewy. Day two shows more fruit on the palate leaning more towards blackberry and cherry.
Overall, very good, can drink now with a day or so of being open- though I think a few (3+) more years on this wine would benefit, with room for improvement beyond that.

Opened a little tight, with blackberries, plums, and hints of vegetation. Only half an hour later, blossomed into ripe sweet cherries, morels, and undercurrents of thyme.

This is good though very young. A single demi-muid from Roland Green with whole cluster. The nose here definitely shows some whole cluster stem notes but mostly blended in with ripe and rich fruit. Crushed violet and baking spice follow. The palate is a bit bigger than the typical wine from Eyrie with a bit more richness and power than I normally expect. Some of that is also because it is young for sure. excellent potential. Would hold 4-5 years minimum.

Tasted at Eyrie while talking to Jason. The label was revived for 2016. 100% Roland Green fruit, whole-cluster fermented. Only 600 bottles produced.
Wonderful fruit as expected from the vineyard and Eyrie. The smaller tannins from the stems give a different mouthfeel, especially over the tongue, as expected from whole-cluster fermentation. An extremely well-made wine that will be a joy to see how the years change it.
