Very good, not sure % new oak but this stood out in comparison to lesser oaked options w/lamb chops, a bit heavy on the make-up but still a nice blend with enuf dark blue-black fruit and spice to balance out the wood.

62% merlot 38% cab franc. Pop and pour. Tannins a touch harsh, especially for a merlot dominant blend. Probably some air would have tamed that. I don't get much of the cab franc other than maybe some subtle earthier notes. Plum and blueberry notes, quite rich on the nose and initial taste but the finish is short. Overall pretty nice for this price point, just give it some time in the decanter first.

Used for stew. Good use. Still don’t like this wine. Too tart and too much cherry. No depth of layers, no Bordeaux earthiness.
