A Taste of Serralunga Dinner-La Festa del Barolo 2024 (Locanda Verde, New York): Again quite saturated. Somber, more backward nose that becomes more aromatic and floral over time. Delicious, rich blackberry and blueberry, large scaled but not as lush as the Parafada. Nice coating of earth arrives late. Subtly powerful, great aging potential.

I am usually not very fond of young Barolos which I often find tannic and closed. But here, from the nose, you can feel an open wine, with floral, spice and brandy notes.
The dress is translucent.
The mouth is of a beautiful purity, with an attack on the cherry brandy. The juice has a nice freshness. Then there is a very pronounced saline and floral side, the whole being coated with a beautiful suppleness. The whole is attractive and already extremely sapid, we take a lot of pleasure in it. Good balance, beautiful structure, the wine is well built. Saline and balsamic finish, still a little firm, with a nice crystalline length.
Return to Piemonte!; 11/25/2021-12/4/2021 (Castello di Sinio, Alba, other various locations): Ok, it is the wine of the winery and the single reserves. Big and powerful and darker red fruits and black fruits and if there is a wine in the collection that’s meant to age its this and not just an extra two years. Something to look for in the future given our drinking tastes.

Excellent Barolo that will age harmoniously.

Nose rose, flowers, red fruit, tobacco leaf. Palate intense, v tannic still. Red fruits, complex. Needs time to mature open.
Sample tasting - no score given. Score range 91-94.
